Piotr Koscik is a Polish conductor and pianist based in Vienna, widely recognized for his sensitive musical leadership, clear artistic vision, and ability to inspire orchestras. He began his international career as a pianist, winning the 2nd Prize at the International Piano Competition in Enschede, along with the Special Prize of the Netherlands Symphony Orchestra. As a soloist and in collaboration with various orchestras, he has performed across Europe and in China.

In recent years, his artistic focus has increasingly shifted toward conducting. He completed his conducting studies at the Zurich University of the Arts under Prof. Iwan Wassilevski and Prof. Christoph Mathias Müller, and refined his skills in masterclasses with Johannes Schläfli, Jorma Panula, Lawrence Foster, Douglas Bostock, Luciano Acocella, Colin Metters, Martin Akerwall, and other distinguished mentors.

Koscik has worked with a wide range of professional ensembles, including the Silesian Philharmonic Katowice, Podkarpacka Philharmonic Rzeszów, Zabrze Philharmonic, Janáčkova filharmonie Ostrava, Sinfonietta Berlin, Southwest German Chamber Orchestra Pforzheim, Orchestra Sinfonica d’Este Ferrara, Filarmonica “Paul Constantinescu” Ploiești, Filarmonica de Stat Oradea, Belgrade Chamber Orchestra, State Opera Ruse, Slovak Radio Symphony Orchestra Bratislava, Filharmonia e Kosovës Pristina, Székelyföldi Filharmónia, and university orchestras in Zurich and Sofia.

 

As a pianist, he graduated in 2014 from the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna in the class of Prof. Oleg Maisenberg, followed by postgraduate studies in Florence with Prof. Eliso Virsaladze. He received awards at piano competitions in Enschede, Munich, Linz, and Zabrze, and worked with artists such as Dang Thai Son, Matti Raekallio, and Michel Béroff. He has released two CDs featuring works by Chopin, Liszt, Mozart, and Haydn, and has served as a board member of the International Chopin Society in Vienna since 2010.
